How do you analyse for Asbestos?

Samples of suspect materials are submitted to our laboratory for testing. Our analysts test the samples utilising a number of techniques to allow for the identification of the fibre type and classification of the product. Techniques used include;

  • Examination under stereo microscope
  • Mounting of fibres in light reflective liquids
  • Examination of fibres under polarised light microscopy (PLM)
  • Examination of fibres using dispersion staining

Our laboratory is UKAS accredited which ensures the highest quality and consistency of analysis results. Please feel free to contact us for further information. Our Laboratory Manager - Gemma McGuckin will be happy to help!
